Five extra grants for the 2011 New York Chess & Diversions Kids Chess Summer Program have recently been financed.
These grants give coordinating assets and pay to one portion of the aggregate expenses for the program. Chosen beneficiaries are in charge of the staying half of program cost.
Starting the week of June 27th and proceeding until August 26th, the New York Chess & Recreations Kids Chess Summer Program gives eight weeks of animating, testing and compensating chess a good time for kids between the ages of 3 and 12. The program obliges members of all aptitude levels, from supreme novice to experienced competition player. The youngsters appreciate week by week field trips, open air sports exercises and visitor visits from some of America\’s top chess players. Visitor educators in the past have included Grandmaster Maurice Ashley and Grandmaster Alexander Lenderman.
The program is run and coordinated by chess educator Christian Whitted.
New York Chess & Amusements has been the beneficiary of endorsements, honors and letters of acknowledgment from the workplaces of Councilmember Letitia James, Congressperson Yvette Clarke, Brooklyn Ward President Marty Markowitz and New York City Chairman Michael Bloomberg.
